Sunset

Sunset

“Sunset” is a simple landscape that is one of my favorite subjects to paint.  As I look at the painting I picture it at dusk and that the birds are returning home.  Years ago I painted a similar painting called  “Heading Home”, a theme that everyone seems to relate to.  Even the birds head home after the day’s end.  As I look at  these landscapes I feel a peaceful calm because the sun is going down in the West, and all will settle down to rest.  The sky is getting...

Moonlight

Before I started this painting (Moonlight),  I wanted to work with different colors to create a feeling of motion and depth.  So with different swirls of the wax, I achieved the motion that I wanted. I painted some trees that helped give this painting some depth. Sentimental Journey

I wanted to do a painting of flowers, but not in a vase.   So I used greens, blues & golds for my background.  I swirled the wax around to make leafy  designs. I also used large dots to give a dancing movement.  Will be framed in black metal frame. 12 x 16 Metal

A Colorful Desert

I haven’t painted for a while because “life gets in the way”; (my artist’s excuse and I’m sticking with it!) but in reality we get “painter’s block” just like a writer gets “writer’s block. But hopefully, that is behind me until the next time. I had painted another painting but had no success; I felt it was too dark, so on my second attempt I decided to try light, cheerful colors, with the result being a small painting I was happy...
