The Lamp

Sometimes images appear in my paintings that I didn’t intentionally paint. This painting is a good example displaying several objects that an artist would say “my muse painted for me”. The lamp itself was the center of attention. I was making a design and I saw what looked like a lamp. I decided to work around it. I added more color (Yellow, orange, blue, brown.) and more design, and after it was finished I saw many things in the painting. I saw Aladdin bending over the whole scene, and I saw an elephant with a girl riding on it with a scarf over her head. I also saw a path that the elephant was following, perhaps leading to a mystical palace.
