Sentimental Journey & My Secret Garden

Posted in Galerìa de Sueños Blog

Recently I have tried another surface to paint on. I ordered some aluminum artist’s panels that are a fairly new development. The panels are composed of two sheets of highly polished aluminum, one brushed and the other smooth, sandwiching a core of 1/8th inch polyethylene.
Here is what I found; the difficulty of painting on this surface is probably about the same as any other surface, but beeswax requires a different technique for applying it on to the surface.
The wax ended up being a little thicker than usual, but seems more vibrant on the metal.
The bottom line is, I liked and enjoyed painting on these panels.

P.S. I was asked if these panels might absorb to much heat for the painting. I have no concerns about this as one would not expose any fine art, regardless of the surface of the painting , to direct sunlight.
